About the Moderator

Carol Thompson has held a number of roles in the health care industry over the past 30+ years.  Carol began working in an independently owned, solo primary care practice before the days of HIPAA, managed care, certified medical assistants, etc. Healthcare delivery was much simpler in those days. Carol then spent almost 25 years at Independence Blue Cross, initially in the provider contracting and service department as director of field services and then managed the implementation of Medicare Part D when CMS introduced that benefit. Currently, Carol is the executive director for one of the divisions of Premier Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Asso., the largest orthopaedic practice in Chester and Delaware Counties.
