GeGe Beall has worked in Healthcare Human Resources and Organizational Development for her entire career.  This includes serving as Vice President of Organizational Development and Director of Human Resources at several HCA hospitals. GeGe has a master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and is owner of Engaged@Work, where she helps companies enhance their culture, which she feels is the key overall leadership, organization, & staff success. Certifications include Fellow, American College of Healthcare Executives; Emotional Intelligence Coach; and Senior Professional in Human Resources.

Our Patients: Love ‘em or Lose ‘em

Patients are no longer very patient with inconsistent service.  They treat healthcare like any other service: something to be shopped.  The truth is they will often leave us for a competitor without even telling us why.  Research tells us that 66% of customer loss is due to poor service.  But what does the patient want? And how can we improve the overall patient experience to not only meet their needs, but to exceed their expectations?

In this session, we’ll:   
• gain an understanding of what research tells us patients really want
• take a group quiz to gain understanding of service facts
• discuss patient fear & the impact fear has on behavior
• discuss & explain a patient communication tool called AIDET (acknowledge, introduce, duration, explanation, thank you)
• discuss research on wait times & how to handle them in a practice
• gain applicable understanding of Disney service concepts: Everything Speaks, Assertive Friendliness, & On Stage/Off Stage 


Continuing Education Hours

Earn up to 1.0 continuing education unit hours for each hour of education from the ACMPE, American College of Medical Practice Executives for a total of six (6) hours.
